Erik's Weekly Fitness Tip : Get Your Mind Right

lazy

Too often I hear clients, teammates, and friends talk themselves out of a workout or heavy lifting session because they are "too tired", have had a "bad day", or just aren't "in the mood". You name, I've heard it.

Though, we are all guilty of having negative thoughts from time to time, it doesn't mean you have to succumb to them. When your mind is saying "no, I can't do this" or "this is way too hard" it's time to bring your focus back to the positive, not the negative. I'm here to tell you that you are indeed capable of doing great things in the gym even when you aren't 100% there mentally. Some of my best gym sessions happened on days that I wasn't "mentally pumped."

If you always take the easy way out, you're never going to achieve your fitness goals. Get off that couch and break a sweat!
